DAY 1 MALAGA
Airport. Arrival at Malaga airport and transfer to the city centre. MALAGA. Afternoon guided panoramic tour of MALAGA, including the most characteristic corners such as Plaza de la Merced, where Picasso was born, Larios Street, Pasaje de Chinitas, Gibralfaro castle and the Park. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 2 MALAGA-RONDA-ARCOS DE LA FRONTERA
Breakfast and departure to Ronda. RONDA Morning guided city tour, with visit of this old town split in two by an impressive sheer cleft over 300 ft deep called El Tajo. We will visit the CHURCH OF SANTA MARÍA, formerly the Mosque, the Old Town, with interesting palaces and convents, and the BULLRING, built in 1784, totally of stone, considered to be the oldest in Spain. Continuation to Arcos de la Frontera. ARCOS FRONTERA Walking tour of this small unique town, with a remarkable historic-artistic monumental centre. Overnight at hotel.
DAY 3 ARCOS FRONTERA-JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA-GERENA
Breakfast and departure to Jerez de la Frontera. JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA. Visit of DOMECQ WINE CELLAR. Domecq is one of the oldest wine companies in Jerez, established in 1730 in an old 16th century mill. We will learn more about the production process and try some of its most reputed wines. Continuation to the small town of Gerena, in the province of Seville. GERENA Overnight at hotel.
DAY 4 GERENA-SEVILLE-GERENA
Breakfast and overnight at hotel. Excursion to Seville. SEVILLE Morning guided panoramic tour and visit of the Gothic CATHEDRAL, the largest in Spain, with the Giralda tower (striking minaret of the former mosque). Then a walk by SANTA CRUZ QUARTER, a maze of small alleys with colourful names stepped in legend and nice squares where the peacefulness of a tiny garden is an invitation to rest. Time at leisure and return to Gerena. GERENA Visit of a CORTIJO, Andalusian farm whose main activity is the breeding of brave bulls. This visit will allow us to approach to the Andalusian country way of life and the world of bullfighting, and have as well the unique chance to see magnificent bulls from very close.
DAY 5 GERENA-CORDOBA-BAEZA
Breakfast and departure to Cordoba. CORDOBA Morning guided city tour with visit of the Aljama MOSQUE, one of the most emblematic buildings of Islamic art, whose construction was initiated by Abderramán I in the 8th century. The columns and arcades that stretch into the dim recesses of the prayer hall create a mysterious space that is often described as a forest of stone. Walk on the JEWISH QUARTER, with its fresh narrow streets and Andalusian «patios», where we will find the only SYNAGOGUE preserved in Andalusia. Time at leisure and continuation to the monumental town of Baeza, in the province of Jaen. BAEZA Overnight at hotel.
DAY 6 BAEZA-UBEDA-BAEZA
Breakfast and overnight at hotel. Morning guided tour with visit of the towns of Baeza and Ubeda. Baeza was declared a «Historical-Artistic city» in 1966 and a «Model City of the Renaissance», by the Council of Europe, in 1975. Ubeda was declared a Historical and Artistic City in 1955 and an «Exemplary City» by the Council of Europe in 1975. In 17th century the city reached its maximum splendour, the construction initiative of the high clergy and the lesser nobles would process the city in one of the more sumptuous ones of the Renaissance.
DAY 7 BAEZA-GRANADA-ANTEQUERA
Breakfast and departure to Granada. GRANADA Morning guided city tour with visit of the ALHAMBRA, impressive complex of monuments located on a rocky hill. This former fortress and royal residence, with its profusely decorated palaces and «patios» (courtyards), evokes the splendour of the Arabic past of the city. Then visit of GENERALIFE gardens, a taste of paradise, with delicate flowers and murmuring fountains. Time at leisure and continuation to Antequera . ANTEQUERA Overnight at hotel.
DAY 8 ANTEQUERA-MALAGA
Breakfast and transfer to Malaga airport. MALAGA Airport. Departure with flight…
